Dede Cusimano has been a Class A Life Member of the LPGA Teaching and Club Professional Division for more than 20 years. She was awarded the 2013 LPGA Western Section “Teacher of the Year” and was nominated for LPGA National Teacher of the Year in 2013. Dede has been recognized by Golf for Women Magazine as one of their Top 50 Golf Instructors from 2004-2009.
Currently she is the Teaching Professional at CC at Castle Pines, in Castle Rock, Colorado during the summer months. As an established golf instructor in the Roaring Fork Valley, she was one of the lead instructors at the Roaring Fork Club in Basalt, Colorado for ten years and for the past nine years she operated the Dede Cusimano Golf Academy at Aspen Golf Club in Aspen, Colorado.
During the winter months, Dede plays and practices in La Quinta, California.
In 2013, she competed in the Wegmans LPGA Championship, which is one of the five majors on the LPGA Tour. In addition, she also won the 2013 LPGA National Club Professional Senior Championship, 2013 LPGA Teaching & Club Professional Western Section Championship, 2012 LPGA Western Section Senior Championship, 2011 LPGA Teaching & Club Professional Central Section Senior Championship, 2009 & 2010 LPGA National Teaching and Club Professional Senior Championship and the 2008 LPGA Southeast Section Championship.
She became the first LPGA Teaching & Club Professional member, in history, to win both the National Championship, in 2003, and the Senior Division Championship in 2009. Additionally, she has played in eight major championships, including five LPGA Championships, two United States Women’s Opens and competed in the United States Senior Women's Open in 2019 at Pine Needles Resort in Pinehurst, NC coming in 35th place.
Born and raised in Torrance, California, Dede earned her Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from Boise State University. She played tennis in college and it wasn’t until after college that she decided to take up golf. Shortly thereafter she won the Idaho State Amateur title and went on to obtain her tour card. She played on the LPGA Tour for three years from 1986-1989. In 1990, she joined Callaway Golf as a Tour representative, working for this golf manufacturer for 10 years. After a decade with Callaway, she missed teaching, so she accepted a position in Westchester County, New York where she taught for eight summers and she has been teaching ever since.
Over the years, Dede has participated in numerous LPGA Tour events. Her accomplishments have been reported in Golf For Women Magazine, The Golf Channel, Golf Magazine, ESPN and various newspapers across the country.
She is a certified Callaway Golf Custom Club Fitter, FlightScope Certified & Titleist Performance Institute Fitness Instructor and Golf Coach.
